Scope. This privacy policy covers all of DataPrism. However, it does not apply to entities that DataPrism does not own or control, such as applications and websites using the DataPrism Operating Environment. By using or accessing DataPrism, you agree to our privacy policy.

No information from children under age 13. If you are under age 13, please do not attempt to register for DataPrism or provide any personal information about yourself to us. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from a child under age 13, please contact us.

Parental participation. We strongly recommend that minors 13 years of age or older ask their parents for permission before sending any information about themselves to anyone over the Internet and we encourage parents to teach their children about safe internet use practices.

Collection of Information
We may collect the following types of information:

Personal information you provide. We ask you for personal information in several situations including when you create a DataPrism Account, register your products, apply for commercial credit, purchase a product, create a license, download a software update, or participate in an online survey. We may combine the information you submit under your account with information from other DataPrism services or third parties in order to provide you with a better experience and to improve the quality of our services. For certain services, we may give you the opportunity to opt out of combining such information. We provide a profile page that makes it easy for you to keep your personal information accurate, complete, and up to date. One of the primary reasons people use DataPrism is to create and share content with others. Examples include when you create an Asset, Object or Module. If you do not want us to store metadata associated with content you share on DataPrism, please remove the metadata before uploading the content.

Non-personal information provided by you or otherwise gathered. This is data in a form that does not permit direct association with any specific individual. We may collect, use, transfer, and disclose non-personal information for any purpose. For example, we may collect information such as occupation, language, zip code, area code, unique device identifier, location, and the time zone where a DataPrism product or service is used so that we can better understand customer behavior and improve our products, services, and advertising. We also may collect information regarding customer activities on our website and from our other products and services. This information is aggregated and used to help us provide more useful information to our customers and to understand which parts of our website, products, and services are of most interest. Aggregated data is considered non-personal information for the purposes of this Privacy Policy. Note, if we do combine non-personal information with personal information the combined information will be treated as personal information for as long as it remains combined.

Cookies and other technologies. DataPrisms website, online services, interactive applications, email messages, and advertisements may use cookies and other technologies such as pixel tags and web beacons. These technologies help us better understand user behavior, tell us which parts of our website people have visited, and facilitate and measure the effectiveness of advertisements and web searches. We treat information collected by cookies and other technologies as non-personal information. However, to the extent that Internet Protocol (IP) addresses or similar identifiers are considered personal information by local law, we also treat these identifiers as personal information. Similarly, to the extent that non-personal information is combined with personal information, we treat the combined information as personal information for the purposes of this Privacy Policy. If you want to disable cookies, please refer to your specific browser on how to do so. Please note that certain features of the DataPrism website will not be available once cookies are disabled. As is true of most websites, we gather some information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type and language, Internet service provider (ISP), referring and exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. Pixel tags enable us to send email messages in a format customers can read, and they tell us whether mail has been opened. We may use this information to reduce or eliminate messages sent to customers.

Third parties. DataPrism Operating Environment (DOE) based solutions. We do not own or operate the applications or websites that you use through or are based on the DataPrism platform. Whenever you connect with a DataPrism application or website, we may receive information from them, including information about actions you take. In some cases, in order to personalize the process of connecting, we may receive a limited amount of information even before you connect with the application or website. Further, DataPrism may make available third party applications, such as Objects or Modules, through its services. The information collected by DataPrism when you enable a third party application is processed under this Privacy Policy. Information collected by the third party application provider is governed by their privacy policies.

Other sites This Privacy Policy applies to DataPrism services only. We do not exercise control over the sites displayed as search results, sites that include DataPrism Objects, Modules or services, or links from within our various services. These other sites may place their own cookies or other files on your computer, collect data or solicit personal information from you. We may also institute programs with advertising partners and other websites in which they share information with us.

Location. DataPrism processes personal information on our servers in the United States of America. By using DataPrism, you consent to having your personal data transferred to and processed in the United States.

Uses of Information
We use the information we collect to try to provide a safe, efficient, and customized experience. Some examples of this include:

To manage the service. We use the information we collect to understand and analyze trends, to administer the site, to provide our services and features to you, to measure and improve those services and features, and to provide you with customer support. DataPrism may use this information in our marketing and advertising services. We use the information to prevent potentially illegal activities, and to enforce our Terms of Service. We also use a variety of technological systems to detect and address anomalous activity and screen content to prevent abuse. These efforts may on occasion result in a temporary or permanent suspension or termination of some functions for some users.

To provide better service. DataPrism and our partners also use cookies and other technologies to remember personal information when you use our website, online services, and applications. Our goal in these cases is to make your experience with DataPrism more convenient and personal. For example, knowing your contact information, product serial numbers, and information about your computer or device helps us register your products, personalize your operating system, set up your DataPrism service, and provide you with better customer service.

To contact you. We may contact you with service-related news from time to time. You may opt out of all communications except essential updates on your account. Note, email addresses will not be sold, rented or leased to 3rd parties.

Information sharing. DataPrism only shares personal information with other companies or individuals outside of DataPrism in the following limited circumstances:

We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

If we use this information in a manner different than the purpose for which it was collected, then we will ask for your consent prior to such use.

Information Protection
DataPrism takes precaution, including administrative, technical, and physical measures, to safeguard your information against loss, theft, and misuse as well as against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. We restrict access to personal information to DataPrism employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to process it on our behalf. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.

DataPrism online services such as the Online Marketplace and Cloud Services use authentication, authorization, and/or Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption on or for access to all web pages where personal information is collected. To make purchases from these services, you must use an SSL-enabled browser such as Safari, Firefox, or Chrome. Doing so protects the confidentiality of your personal information while its transmitted over the Internet.

When you use some DataPrism products, services, or applications or post on a DataPrism forum, chat room, or social networking service, the personal information you share is visible to other users and can be read, collected, or used by them. You are responsible for the personal information you choose to submit in these instances. For example, if you list your name and email address in a forum posting, that information is public. Please take care when using these features.

Edit or Remove Information
You can help ensure that your contact information and preferences are accurate, complete, and up to date by logging in to your account at http://dataprism.net/edit_profile.php. Information will be immediately updated.

For other personal information, we make good faith efforts to provide you with access so you can request that we correct the data if it is inaccurate or delete the data if DataPrism is not required to retain it by law or for legitimate business purposes. We may decline to process requests that are unreasonably repetitive, require disproportionate technical effort, jeopardize the privacy of others, are extremely impractical, or for which access is not otherwise required by local law. Access, correction, or deletion requests can be made to info@dataprism.net.

Note, removed and deleted information may persist in backup copies for up to 90 days, but will not be available to others.

Changes to This Privacy Policy
Please note that this Privacy Policy may change from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy without your explicit consent. We will post any Privacy Policy changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice (including, for certain services, email notification of Privacy Policy changes). We will also keep prior versions of this Privacy Policy in an archive for your review.
